Where to get a Windows 8 Product Key

tip_primar-100011253-galleryWhere to get a Windows 8 Product Key

Now that Windows 8 has been commercially released Microsoft is no longer providing free product keys for testing.  You now have three options to install Windows 8:

  1. Purchase a retail copy of Windows 8 for as little as $14.99.

  2. The information below is from the original article posted during the Windows 8 beta and no longer applies to the final release edition.  Microsoft recommends everyone on test builds to upgrade to the final version before the your installation expires.

The easiest product key to use is the public product key on the Windows 8 FAQ:

Release Preview

TK8TP-9JN6P-7X7WW-RFFTV-B7QPF

Consumer Preview

DNJXJ-7XBW8-2378T-X22TX-BKG7J

You can also get a key by running the installer on the main download page.

For those of you that are part of the Windows Ecosystem Readiness program (BUILD Conference) located on Microsoft Connect, you can request a key with this link.
